Who we are
BuySell is a marketplace for secondhand goods in Singapore. Prices are in SGD. This policy covers the BuySell app and the database that stores accounts, listings, and messages.

What we collect
When you create an account we store your name, email, neighborhood, and a hash of your password. We do not store the password itself.
When you edit your profile we store a username, a display name, the marketplace you pick (Singapore, Malaysia, or Thailand), a bio, an optional profile photo, and optional business details: company name, registration number, contact number, business email, website, address, and operating hours. You can hide the business details.
The email you used to register stays on the account. You can add an optional mobile number and bind an optional Telegram username. Signup does not ask for the mobile number. We keep both for the account, and other people do not see them.
When you publish a listing we store the title, price, category, condition, description, neighborhood, photo, and whether it is for sale, reserved, or sold.
When you message someone we store the message, who sent it, and when. A rating you leave after a meetup is stored with that chat.
If you save a listing or a search, we store that on your account. A half-written listing stays on your phone until you publish it or clear the form. The neighborhood you pick on the first screen stays on your phone.
If you report or block someone we store that report or block.
The phone keeps a session so you stay logged in. After you log out, it remembers that account's name, username, and profile photo. You enter the password again to continue. If you allow notifications, we store that phone's push token so a new message can reach it. We do not use the phone's GPS. The neighborhood on a listing is the one you choose.
How we use it
We use this information to run your account, show listings, deliver messages, reset a password, and handle reports. A password reset emails you. A report can email the contact address above. You can turn the message-email preference off in Settings.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Other people on BuySell can see your display name, username, marketplace, bio, profile photo, neighborhood, and listings. They can see business details only when you leave them visible. They can see messages you send them. Your registration email, mobile number, and Telegram bind are only on Edit profile in Settings. They are not on your profile page, and other people do not see them.
The email provider that sends a reset code or a report sees that email. A contact number you publish can be opened in WhatsApp. Push delivery is handled by the phone's notification service. Reports are read by the BuySell operator at the contact address above.
How long we keep it
We keep the account, listings, and messages until you delete the account in Profile. Deleting the account removes your listings, messages, sessions, and blocks. Reports you filed are removed. Reports other people filed may be kept so we can act on them.
Your choices
You can review and change your profile from Settings. You can delete the account from Profile. To ask for a copy or a correction, use the contact email above. This request is how you exercise your rights under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act.
